Documents and e-signatures
Documents in Stackap Business creates agreements, sends them to signers, collects native e-signatures and stores the signed PDF with the customer or worker.
What it does
A document has fields, signers and an activity log. A signer opens a link, fills the fields and signs, without an account or a third-party service. Signed agreements are produced as PDFs and kept with the record they belong to. Agreements, including those for sales partners, are generated as PDFs.
Files have a home. Uploads, a drive with folders and shared files, receipts, job photos and HR paperwork are stored against the client, job or team member they concern, and the right people see them through role-based access.
The reason to build this in rather than connect a separate e-signature product is the chain: the signed agreement sits next to the booking, the payment and the worker record it concerns.
How it works
Stackap Business is working software for running a service business, with its capabilities documented from the code. It is being brought onto the Stackap platform, so an outside agent can operate it with the same scoped tokens, approvals and API that Stackap Cloud uses. That work is in progress. Documents run inside the business software today. Outside agent access is not yet available.
Signing is native. The software does not connect to DocuSign, HelloSign or PandaDoc, and none of them is required. That keeps documents and the audit trail in the same place as the rest of the business, and it means a customer signs on a page that looks like your business, not like a vendor's.
Early-access scope
- Native e-signature has not been independently audited or certified. Check whether it meets the rules for the documents you need to sign.
- No tracking of licenses, insurance or certificate expiry dates.
- No contract lifecycle features such as redlining, clause libraries or approval chains.
- Files live in storage the software manages today; the move onto Stackap storage is part of the integration work.
