Communications
Communications in Stackap Business is a hub that keeps SMS, email, voice, web chat and internal messages in one history per customer.
What it does
The hub has threads, messages and contacts, with templates, mentions, search, away mode and assignment. A person can answer a text, an email or a call from the same screen, and see what was said on every other channel. Calling works in the browser with a softphone, with ring strategy settings, voicemail, call recording disclosure and a missed-call text that goes out automatically.
Channels are real integrations rather than stubs. SMS and voice run on Telnyx. Email is sent through Resend, received through an inbound webhook and polled over IMAP. Telegram delivers owner alerts. Push notifications reach the browser and the phone.
An AI voice agent can answer a business's line. It talks to a tool server that can look up prices, check slot availability, submit an application and leave a call note. A separate chat agent answers on the website widget, and a team messaging area translates between English and Spanish for crews.
How it works
Stackap Business is working software for running a service business, with its capabilities documented from the code. It is being brought onto the Stackap platform, so an outside agent can operate it with the same scoped tokens, approvals and API that Stackap Cloud uses. That work is in progress. The hub runs inside the business software today. Stackap's own phone and email services are on the roadmap and are not available.
One history per customer is the goal, and it is the reason this belongs beside the CRM. When a customer texts about a late invoice, whoever answers sees the invoice, the booking and the earlier calls without opening another tool.
Early-access scope
- Conversations are stored in more than one structure inside the software. A single normalized store is part of the unification work, so we do not claim every older thread is in the hub.
- SMS, voice and email depend on third-party providers you configure. Stackap does not yet provide its own numbers or mailboxes.
- A provider outage affects that channel until the provider recovers.
- There is no ticketing system, service-level tracking or knowledge base. Support runs through chat channels and escalation flags.
