Automation and agents
Automation in Stackap Business is 73 scheduled jobs and an in-product AI agent, being joined to the approvals, scoped tokens and idempotency that Stackap Cloud already has.
What it does
The business software acts on its own. Seventy-three scheduled jobs generate recurring bookings, send follow-ups and reminders, sync reviews, run SEO checks, sweep payouts, post depreciation and clean up. Work is claimed by lease so two workers cannot take the same item, and outbox tables hold messages to be sent.
An AI agent with 175 tools can read and change records in the product: list deals, send quotes, create invoices, approve refunds, send campaigns, post to social accounts. A hand-built tool server lets a voice agent look up prices and slots during a call. Each business has its own permissions and configuration.
The direction is to put all of that behind one control plane. Stackap Cloud already issues scoped, expiring tokens, requires a human approval bound to the exact action for dangerous operations, accepts idempotency keys and publishes an OpenAPI description. The work in progress is registering business actions against those same mechanisms rather than building a parallel set.
How it works
Stackap Business is working software for running a service business, with its capabilities documented from the code. It is being brought onto the Stackap platform, so an outside agent can operate it with the same scoped tokens, approvals and API that Stackap Cloud uses. That work is in progress. Scheduled jobs and the in-product agent run now. The shared control plane for outside agents does not yet cover business actions.
The rule that guides it is simple. Reading is cheap, writing is deliberate, and spending money or contacting a customer should need a clear authorization. The planned order is read-only actions first, then safe writes, with policy checks running in shadow before they are enforced.
Early-access scope
- There is no event bus or normalized event stream. Automation is jobs on a schedule plus database queues.
- There is no user-configurable workflow or rules builder.
- Some actions, such as Google Business posts, take effect immediately with no approval step in the software today.
- Approvals in Stackap Cloud currently cover project deletion. Extending them to business actions is planned, not done.
